Sustainable fashion designer Zahira Moo presented her latest collection, “The Dark Night of the Soul,” at New York Fashion Week 2025, hosted by SFWRUNWAY, a platform dedicated to showcasing and supporting emerging designers of color. The event took place on February 6, 2025, and highlighted Moo’s innovative approach to sustainable fashion.

“The Dark Night of the Soul” is a powerful exploration of transformation and self-discovery, expressed through upcycled garments and AI-driven designs. “This collection embodies resilience and the beauty that emerges from life’s most challenging moments,” said Naomi Alabi, founder of SFWRUNWAY. Each piece tells a story of vulnerability transformed into strength, using romantic collars, black transparencies, velvet, and lace to evoke memories and emotions.

Moo’s integration of artificial intelligence into the design process optimizes resources and reduces environmental impact, aligning with SFWRUNWAY’s commitment to sustainable fashion. “Zahira’s work is a testament to the power of creativity and technology to drive positive change in the fashion industry,” added Alabi. The collection’s unique patterns reflect the energy and transformation inherent in the creative process, showcasing Moo’s ability to blend art, technology, and sustainability.

Zahira Moo is a Venezuelan fashion designer known for her innovative and sustainable designs.
