Fenty Skin Review

Darcey Sergison reviews the newest skincare on the block and, spoiler – you are in for a treat!

Rihanna is a singer, entrepreneur, business woman and now she can add skincare extraordinaire to this list. With the launch of Fenty in 2017, the collection by Rihanna has now extended to skincare alongside her beauty collection.

In partnership with Kendo Brands, a LVMH-owned beauty developer, Rihanna has introduced her second global beauty brand, Fenty Skin. Skincare is an essential for everyone, so this seemed like a natural step for Fenty to become even more part of our daily lives.

Skincare has always been a complex labyrinth for most customers, but this new collection promises to simplify your routine to the core basics. Fenty Skin features vegan, gluten-free and oil-free formulas, which combines globally sourced ingredients, including vitamin C-rich Barbados cherry, with gold standard skincare ingredients, like hyaluronic acid and niacinamide.

Sticking to a 3-step routine the new collection includes a ‘remove it all’ cleanser, ‘pore refining’ toner serum, and lastly an SPF 30 sunscreen. These products together work as the ultimate trio creating a clean and fresh canvas for morning and night routines.

When making this range Rihanna took inspiration from all skin types. When asked about the inspiration behind her new collection Rihanna said that she has launched Fenty Skin because of her own insecurities. Some of her most persisting insecurities were hyperpigmentation, sensitivity and dry skin. Therefore, all of the products seek to rectify these.

My favourite product from the new collection has to be the sunscreen. Since lockdown and now that we are in the heart of summer it is crucial to protect your skin from harsh and aging sunlight. As I have been wearing less makeup SPF is even more important in sunscreen as I normally relied on the SPF in foundation to protect my skin. I noticed that as I wore less makeup my combination skin was becoming drier. As soon as I started to use Fenty’s sunscreen it made a huge difference in hydrating my skin.

If you are looking for a new simpler addition to your skincare routines or need somewhere to start, I highly recommend Fenty Skincare. Perfect for all skin types, there is nothing better than a 3 step start to your day.
