Last Saturday saw ‘On My Mind’ singer Ellie Goulding marry fiancé Caspar Jopling at York Minster. She wore a bespoke Chloé gown, designed in collaboration with Natasha Ramsey-Levi.

The elaborate silk crepe dress took 640 hours to create at the Paris atelier and featured full sleeves, a ruffled circular high neckline and was pure white in colour. The design was inspired by the Victorian era, and referenced the historical York cathedral. Hand-embroidered white roses of York embellished the entire gown and the radzimir petticoat. These embellishments were adorned further with intricate glass beads which caught the light. The dress had a tight fitting bodice, went in at the waist and then flowed out.  A long train contributed to the look being modest and regal, but with a modern twist. The bridesmaids complemented Goulding’s dress in column shaped white gowns.

Goulding was ecstatic to work with the fashion house on her dress, commenting: “I have loved the brand and their incredible team for years, so it only seemed right for Chloé to play big part of this special day. Natacha worked alongside me to design something timeless and classic, but with all the Chloé spirit… I have never felt more special than the moment I first tried on the dress during my fitting in Paris, it was utterly awe-inspiring to see the craftsmanship and attention to detail.”

The silk tulle veil took an additional 591 hours to produce and Goulding paid homage to her husband by having their initials embroidered on the fabric. She wore the veil over her face on entering the cathedral, in the aristocratic wedding tradition.

The singer kept the look current by accessorising with sizable silver rings, pearl drop earrings and additional diamond studs further up her ears. Her hair was pinned up and her make up looked simple and fresh: with a brown smoky eye and a sweep of blush to the cheeks.
