In this article, Cicilia Brognoli presents the Harrods temporary outlet in the Westfield shopping centre in White City, London.
Harrods opened its doors in the store of White City on the 3rd July and will remain open until March 2021. The famous brand has chosen a large space where the Debenhams store was located until a few months ago. Harrods chose that 140,000 sq feet space to set up an outlet.
Westfield is a huge shopping centre so remember that Harrods entrance is on the ground floor, while the exit is on the first floor. This is certainly a choice that takes social distancing into account, allowing faster movement of incoming and outgoing customers. At the same time, it is a perfect strategy to create an obligatory passage on both floors, enticing the customer to take a look around all the store.
The outlet area is well divided into cosmetics, gifts, shoes, and clothing. Visual merchandising is simple and well distributed, so that shoppers view all the products without touching them. At the entrance, you will immediately find a section with typical Harrods gifts, and on the opposite side there are cosmetics products at 40% discount, some even at 50%. As for perfumes, remember the names of your favourites: with the current hygienic safety measures, it is not possible to try the products.
On the same floor, there’s the accessories area, where shelves teem with shoes and bags. The brand variety includes Stella McCartney, Michael Kors, and Chloé. There’s great variety also in the footwear zone. The available sizes are all on display, but if you find the model that’s right for you, you will surely leave the store with a smile on your face. This area is the right destination for women with a more eccentric style, while the men’s shoe section is definitely soberer.
On the first floor, you will find the clothing section for men, women and children. The brands on display are among the largest and most loved: Balmain, Off-White, Kenzo, Missoni, Stella McCartney, and many others. Even on clothes, there are big discounts of 40% or 50% making generally extremely expensive pieces more accessible. The women’s section seems to have more elegant clothes, however, it is enough to rummage a little on clothes stands to find nice casual garments. Whilst the men’s section at a glance is decidedly colourful and flamboyant, again you have to check carefully the stands to find super discounted and more sober clothes. Eventually, the little ones will find a giant giraffe to welcome them to the area used for toys and clothes.
Considering that the outlet will be open for several months, it is worth going back more than once to find new offers and products. Harrods took a great opportunity bringing its products and flawless customer service to Westfield as well. A trip to this outlet is highly recommended for all shopping lovers.
