Grace Pickford reports on this year’s BAFTA TV Award Nominees at-home photo shoot.

This year’s BAFTA TV Awards took place last night as a virtual event in a closed studio, hosted by Richard Ayoade, where the winners sent in their videos of acceptance.

Before the show, the nominees took the party home as they created the event’s first virtual photo shoot directed by photographer, Rankin.

Organised via video calls and with the help of friends and family the stars took to their living rooms and gardens for a personalised fashion shoot.

Photographer Rankin said that “despite the limitations, we have created a memorable series of photographs and it has been a real honour to capture some of the biggest TV stars in the intimacy of their own homes.”

The stars took the opportunity to spice up the proceedings with actor Stephen Graham, nominated for best leading actor, leaping from a trampoline in celebration of his nomination. 

Nominees Glenda Jackson (Elizabeth Is Missing) and Suranna Jones (Gentleman Jack) have both been nominated in the leading actress category and were both seen sipping tea, Jones surrounded by her wellington boots and newspaper in a sleek white suit, not forgetting to mention the cheeky appearance of her Bafta for her role in Doctor Foster last year.

Guz Khan, nominated for “best male performance in a comedy programme” for his role in the show Man Like Mobeen, was captured with water guns at the ready as his children took part in his kitchen photo shoot.

Sex Education star Ncuti Gatwa kept it classy in a black and white suit, standing proud in his garden.
