Type of Business:
Contemporary fashion brand blending African heritage with modern European design — specialising in headwear, ready-to-wear collections, and cultural couture.
Location:
United Kingdom (Registered in England & Wales)
How long has the company been running?
Ravina Fashions was officially launched in September 2024, drawing on over 20 years of experience in fashion design, retail, and journalism. While the company itself is new, it is built on a long-standing foundation of creative vision, industry insight, and a deep understanding of global fashion movements.
Where did the idea come from?
The brand was born from a desire to merge cultures through design. Founder Emmanuel Ajayi recognised a global appetite for African-inspired fashion and envisioned a label that respectfully celebrates the rich tradition of African textiles while integrating the clean sophistication of European tailoring. The name Ravina was chosen to represent beauty, refinement, and the harmony between cultural pride and forward-thinking style.
What are your company values?
Ravina Fashions is guided by four key principles:
Authenticity
Cultural Respect
Creativity
Inclusivity
Every collection aims to tell a meaningful story, highlight underrepresented voices, and uplift heritage through contemporary design. The brand also places value on collaboration, community engagement, and sustainable practices where feasible.
Currently, how many people work for the business?
Ravina Fashions currently operates with a close-knit team of five core members, supported by a wider network of freelance designers, stylists, artisans, and creative partners based in both the UK and Africa. The team’s synergy is fuelled by a shared commitment to quality, originality, and cultural representation.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a business?
“Start with a clear purpose. Fashion is fast-paced and competitive, but your unique voice is your superpower. Don’t rush. Build with intention. Do your research, understand your audience, and surround yourself with people who both challenge and support you. Be consistent, stay adaptable, and never stop believing in your vision.”
— Emmanuel Ajayi, Founder
Where do you hope the company will be in 5 years’ time?
In the next five years, Ravina Fashions envisions itself as a globally recognised brand known for culturally conscious fashion and cross-continental collaborations.
Goals include:
Launching full seasonal collections
Opening a flagship showroom
Expanding retail presence across the UK, Europe, and Africa
Supporting grassroots charity foundations
Launching free design classes for emerging talent
Creating local employment opportunities to help stimulate the creative economy
Ultimately, Ravina Fashions aims to become more than a brand — a platform for empowerment, cultural expression, and global dialogue through fashion
