It is with great sadness that we announce we are closing our print edition.
While we are still able to produce issues in a digital format, the print edition has, unfortunately, become untenable.
In recent years, print magazines have been hit with a number of roadblocks. These include, but are by no means limited to:
- Uncertainty over tariffs on deliveries to the US, which, with preorder items, can result in a loss of profit by the time the sold item is delivered (forcing us to halt US deliveries until such a time as the situation stablises)
- New regulations for EU deliveries resulting in higher costs (and ultimately causing us to cease EU deliveries altogether)
- Rising paper costs
- Rising postage costs both nationally and worldwide
- Reduction in interest in traditional print marketing, denting our profits – we rely on advertising sales to keep the business going, as print sales make only a tiny profit per copy
- Downsizing of staff teams due to mounting costs, leaving fewer people to bear the burden of time-consuming and technically demanding print processes
As a result of all of these factors, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to say farewell to our print edition after eight years and 97 issues. We came a long way – a lot longer than expected for a completely independent publication – and we’re proud of what we achieved.
We’re happy to say that the London Runway website and Instagram page are not going anywhere. You can expect to see more fashion news, tips, articles, editorials, and interviews from us in the months – and, hopefully, years – to come.
If you’d like to get your hands on a London Runway print edition, the opportunities are now limited and going fast – we have a few back issues left in our store, but once they’re gone, they’re gone for good. They are now on offer at sale prices to help clear out our stock. Check them out here:
